Case Study
The Retail Park Liffey Valley
The Retail Park Liffey Valley which is owned by a pension fund is a busy retail park located in West Dublin. Evia was instructed by the Asset Manager to devise a detailed sustainability strategy for the asset. The process involved a review, the purpose of which was to set out a pathway to lead the asset towards a Net Zero Carbon future.
Evia reviewed the asset from a building and operational perspective and set out strategic sustainability recommendations. They incorporated 25 initiatives including opportunities for Solar PV energy generation, waste management, occupier fit-out policies and water conservation. When implemented, these initiatives will:
- enhance the asset’s environmental credentials;
- gain a recognised international standard in energy management;
- protect the value of the asset; and
- provide a positive visual impact for the scheme’s tenants and customers.
The impact for the owners is a clear route to achieving sustainability, protecting the asset value for the pension fund and making the asset more attractive to investors, funders, occupiers and customers.
